eJournal makes use of the Entity ID “ejournal.app”. Make sure to contact SURF before configuring SURFconext in eJournal.
Login as administrator on your eJournal environment.
Go to the admin panel e.g.: https://[your institute subdomain].ejournal.app/admin.
Go to the “SURFconext integration” tab
Insert the organisation domain name(s) that the organisation uses for the email-addresses of their users. Some organisations have a different subdomain for teachers and students, both should be inserted.
Optionally insert the "SURFconext entity ID". This is used to have your organisation automatically selected when loggin in via SURFconext. The entity ID should be available here.
Optionally determine if you want users that do not yet have an account on eJournal to automatically get one when logging in via SURFconext ('Allow registration via SURFconext').
Optionally change the roles that are allowed to create courses by default.
Click “save”.
Try it out by opening an incognito tab and clicking on the new “SURFconext” logo at the top of the login screen.
After you confirmed that SURFconext works, you can opt to enable “enforce SSO policy”. You can find this setting under “edit instance”. This will disable users from the organisation to login with a password. External users or users that are explicitly excluded can still login with a password.
