You can find your notification settings on your profile under the Notifications tab. Every notification is always visible right away in eJournal, under the bell at the top of the screen. For each type of notification, you choose whether you also receive an email:
- Notify immediately: Receive a separate email for each notification.
- Daily summary: Every day around 13:00, you receive one summary email with all new notifications set to Daily summary. If there are none, no email is sent.
- Weekly summary: On Monday, the notifications set to Weekly summary are added to that summary email.
- In-app only: No email; the notification is only shown in eJournal, under the bell.
- Disabled: You do not receive notifications of this type at all.

You only receive email at a verified email address. If yours is not verified yet, the Notifications tab shows a warning; verify it on the Details tab.
¶ Receive notifications from
Own Groups or All Users
- Own Groups (the default): if you are a member of a group in a course, you only receive notifications about users in your own groups.
- All Users: you receive notifications about all users in the course.
In a course without groups, you receive notifications about all users either way.
¶ Deadline reminders
A deadline reminder is sent for a deadline in your collection that you have not finished yet. It has its own options:
- Both one week and a day in advance (the default)
- A day in advance
- A week in advance
- In-app only, both one week and a day in advance
- Disabled
¶ Notification types
The Notifications tab lists every type of notification, but you only receive the ones that concern you. The tables below group them by who usually receives them. Default is the email option a type has until you change it.
