The feedback perspectives panel in a course or programme allows you to manage which feedback perspectives are available.
To access this panel, go to your course or programme management page and click on the 'Feedback Perspectives' tab.
Note: Any changes you make here only apply to new feedback and do not affect existing feedback retroactively.
There are two ways to manage which feedback perspectives are available within a course or programme:
We recommend using the predefined set whenever possible, as this ensures alignment with your programme or institute and allows for more consistent support.
Courses that are part of a programme automatically inherit that programme’s feedback perspectives to ensure consistency across the programme.
If needed, you can make an exception for a specific course by switching the selection or creating a custom set of feedback perspectives for that course.
Note: Once a course no longer uses the same selection as its programme, any changes made to the programme’s feedback perspectives will no longer affect that course.
When a new programme or standalone course is created, it will use the institute’s default feedback perspective set.
You can change this to a more suitable set at any time by selecting 'Select Other Feedback Perspective Set'.
Simply choose the feedback perspective set that best fits your educational context, then click 'Use' to apply it.
You can create a custom selection of feedback perspectives from those available at your institute for use within your own programme or course.
To do this, click 'Create Feedback Perspective Set' from the actions. You’ll first be prompted to choose a base selection as a starting point. After clicking 'Start', you can add or remove feedback perspectives to tailor the selection to your specific needs.
If you start a custom selection at the programme level, all courses within that programme that have not created their own custom selection will automatically use the programme’s updated selection.
Note: Once a course or programme manages its own feedback perspectives, it will no longer receive automatic updates.
For example, if a course creates a custom selection — even if it belongs to a programme — any future changes to the programme’s feedback perspectives will not affect that course.
You cannot create new feedback perspectives yourself. Feedback perspectives are shared across the entire institute to ensure consistency. You can create your own custom selection of feedback perspectives from those available to your institute.
If you believe an important perspective is missing, please contact your institute’s administrator. Once the perspective is added at the institute level, it will become available for use in your course or programme — and for others across the institute as well.
